ROUTE 66

I originally arranged this big band version for the Four Freshmen’s guest appearance with the US Air Force Academy Band’s Falconaires, in 1982. We saw the Freshmen perform it live with Woody Herman’s Thundering Herd at the Sands Hotel in Las Vegas a few years later. At that performance, Byron Stripling was playing lead trumpet. What a rush!
